Welcome to The Well - Rapid City

The Well is a church community that gathers under the belief that diversity and multiple perspectives are not to be avoided but are necessary parts of collective growth. We understand that each person views the world through certain “lenses” and that none of us is free of biases or presupposition. Consequently we believe that we need one another to help draw us out of stagnant patterns of thought and behavior. Through all that we do, we seek to facilitate relational interaction and development, which we hold to be a central element in God’s purposes for humanity.

Our most basic “mission statement” reads… The Well is devoted to encouraging and inspiring people, through authentic community and in culturally relevant ways, to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, to live by faith, to be a voice of hope and to be known by love

We also gather under the principle that, as theologian and holocaust martyr Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “The church is the church, only when it exists for others.” This means that our hope is to connect in tangible and meaningful ways with the community of the Black Hills, and most specifically with the community of North Rapid.
